Coto Technology’s relay design labs and corporate offices are located in scenic North Kingstown, RI (USA) along the shores of Narragansett Bay.  From coil windings and reed relays to dry reed switches and MEMS-based sensors, Coto has established itself as a market leader in product quality and design innovation.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Entry level position working closely with a Product Engineer, perform diversified duties required to design and execute test procedures on small magnetic sense devices to characterize their performance and qualification to, and beyond specification. Immediate focus will be on magnetic film devices such as AMR, GMR, and TMR. Advancement is possible for a motivated individual that wants to learn and grow with the product line.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This is very much a hands-on position to fully characterize component performance. Build test fixtures/equipment from a schematic & Bill of Material. Design small printed circuit boards (PCB) as needed to support lab projects. Participate in the design of, and then execute procedures or experiments, then report the results in a clear and professional manner.  Work with LabView or similar software/hardware to perform automated tests. Use Excel to perform statistical analysis on gathered data, publish results in a clear and professional report. Expose components to environmental stimulation using equipment such as temperature/humidity chambers, shock/vibration testers.

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Lab instruments such as DVM, Oscilloscope, LCR Bridge, optical microscope, etc.
